To add to the tribute (although not in poetic form). I inherited many things from my mother – my hair color, facial features, my height. But my favorite things I inherited from Mama Kack are:
- The ability to whip up a fabulous meal and look great doing it
- The ability to eat – a lot – and really enjoy it
- My often bizarre sense of humor
- Absolutely amazing organizational skills
- The instincts to raise children who are happy, hard working, loving and generally well-behaved
- Being quick to laugh and slow to anger
- The knowledge that I can take care of myself and can do anything I want to do
- A sunny, happy, “every day is a great day”, outlook on life
- A sense of adventure
I have yet to see evidence of inheritance of her ability to tell a white lie when necessary or any ability to make the best cinnamon rolls in the world but I’m hoping those will come with age.
I wouldn’t be who I am if it were not for Mama Kack and I’m pretty darn happy with who I am. So here’s to you, Mom. Thanks for having me, raising me, loving me and being there for me. Have a spectacular birthday !
